I am very upset about my car I bought and signed papers at 7:15pm on 6/6/17 - I drove the car home last night and of course drove it to show my daughter & her husband and everything was great, noticed car windows were fogging up, but at that point it was rainy and not that hot or humid. After showing them my “New/Used” Car I began my short 20 minute trip home and at that point it had stopped raining so it was very humid. I turned on the A/C and then noticed in about 3 to 5 minutes the temperature inside the car became very warm and then the A/C began blowing nicely, but it was warm/hot air. Because the car is new to me I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. When I got home I read my owners manual, but there seemed to be nothing wrong with what I was doing to try and get the A/C to work. As soon as I got to work this morning (6/7/17) I called CarMax and was told I could bring it in for service to look at. (Car has been in my possession 12 hours at this point). I took my car on my lunch break and was greeted by a super nice lady named Shelia at the service counter. She couldn’t have been more helpful and nice. At this point she informed me that they were out of loaner cars so I would have to be picked up by Enterprise Rental Car and I could get a car from them, butttt I would have to give them my debit card for them to put a hold on it for $50.00 and of course return it with the same about of gas that was in the vehicle when I picked it up. REALLY??? The reason for the compliant and rant…I have had the car less than 24 hours (16 hours to be exact at time of drop-off to CarMax) after taking it to the dealership. It was looked at by a nice gentleman named Mitch and he called me to inform me that my Compressor on my A/C went out, I said again…REALLY?? Because it has manufacture warranty the car would have to go the KIA place for the compressor to be replaced and hopefully the car we have to be there hopefully just a day. Mitch who again was very nice said he would get it over as soon as he could and get my car back to me as soon as he could - Hmmmmmm now them getting it back to me and me having it back are two different things. I am very upset, livid actually because who put a car on a sales lot to be sold when in fact it was not ready to be sold at all. I work in a Facilities Office at University of SC which has an Engine Repair Shop, all the men in back are Mechanics. I spoke with them as soon as I hung up with Mitch and they informed me that if a proper mechanical inspection of the car was done, they would be aware that the condenser for the A/C was about to go out. That would have shown up on the Diagnostic Test that should have been done. I completely understand things can be missed a loose belt, etc. but, main and expensive parts of a car should not be missed! That car should have never been on the lot to be sold since obviously it wasn’t ready to be. I have not had my car an entire day and already had to take back to CarMax for a very extensive repair. Having to take the car back in less than 24 hours and then being told that I have to pay more money for a rental car/gas is totally unacceptable. Bottom line of my rant is that the car should HAVE NEVER BEEN OUT ON THE LOT TO BE SOLD UNTIL IT WAS READY!! Buying a car is stressful enough, thinking of the money and the down-payment you give to purchase the car, so these things should be very carefully gone over. I completely understand things happen and life is full of OOOOPS, but I feel as if this was not just an OOOOPS someone just didn’t do their job!! I have absolutely no complaints about Chris, Sharon or Mitch the man who contacted me about the repairs of my car. I just want someone to be aware of how upset I am and that if this was your or your spouses car which was bought less than 24 hours ago from a place that prides themselves in thoroughness and #1 Used Cars how would you feel? People are you where is your new/used car I wanna see it, and you have to explain to them, it’s at the shop in less than 24 hours… They say “Really and Shake Their Heads) have a new/used car I have not even be able to drive. On a good no Great experience to this was Chris my salesman who was nothing, but AWESOME and so easy to work with and Mrs. Shelia in Service who was AWESOME as well. She could tell I was very upset and still was very nice to me and tried her hardest to accommodate me. Both did their job BEYOUND EXPECTATIONS…
This reviewer is talking about carmax not carfax
The dealership and I have been trying to get an erroneous mileage input from a muffler shop corrected so we can sell our RV. We are being ignored, your customer service is worse than any business I have ever dealt with. We are on day FOUR trying to resolve, the dealership is at a loss as we are. We are the victims in this situation and being held hostage by your company. The muffler shop has corrected, we have submitted documentation after the error to show the correct mileage and yet here we are DAY FOUR trying to resolve something not of our making. Disgusted
Very upsetting Kay. I have an accident on mine and shows front end damage with airbag deployment I had a cracked mirror from the guy hitting mirror on mirror. Can’t use the car as a trade since its an accident & the value is now half!! How to stop this….I’m working.
Our Dealership has been with Carfax since 2012 and we were happy paying $85.00 a month. All of the sudden I got an email that I was past due. I had been paying my $85.00 that was set up through bill pay. I called to find out what was going on and they said that my terms had changed. I told them that I did not agree to this and they said you did in 2012 and that they had sent me a bill that the rates were increasing and that they had asked all the dealers and they wanted the increase. I said no has called me since 2012. I was told in 2012 that I could cancel my account with a 30 day written notice. They are saying that I have to keep this account that I do not use until May of 2017. I have called everyone they are rude and mean. I have asked to be out of this account and they will not let me out. WARNING DO NOT EVER SIGN A CONTRACT WITH CARFAX. I have never seen a business that you cannot cancel for a year. My account apparently renews in February and I have to keep it till May because I don’t know why but they said they will turn us to collections so I had to pay the outstanding fees. Then they deactivated my account and they then charged me a $100.00 reactivation fee for an account that I wanted closed.
Thank you very much.. This billing has been taken care of.. Vickie Foster
You need to publish the address to your legal department.
Being your company gathers personal information about people that is linked directly to that individual via vin it is your duty.
There’s this a time that I checked Carfax reports and compared with VinAudit reports. The difference of the details shown between them isn’t a big deal that’s why I stick to VinAudit. Much cheaper and reliable at the same time.
What is the carfax guarantee. If somethings not right! Or was the carfax buyback? Please explain either or. Thanks
Hi my name is Sandra and I just wanted to drop you a quick note here instead of calling you. I came to your Carfax Headquarters | Corporate Office, Company Info : Headquarters Info page and noticed you could have a lot more hits. I have found that the key to running a popular website is making sure the visitors you are getting are interested in your subject matter. There is a company that you can get targeted visitors from and they let you try the service for free for 7 days. I managed to get over 300 targeted visitors to day to my site. Check it out here: http://tgi.link/dcf2
I recently bought a car from a small dealer in Ft. Myers Fl. and was lied to when I asked about the Carfax. The dealer displays a carfax poster in their window and claims to be honest and treat their customers like family. On the test drive I asked about the carfax and the sales man reached behind the seat and pulled out a folder and began telling me that the car had had one owner and was in great condition and that there were no problems and that it was a clear @carfax report. So I moved forward with the purchase of the car.
I notices that one of the driving lights was coming on and off and i figured it was a loose wire. I brought the car to a chevy dealership and dropped it off to have the light checked out. Believing that the car was clean I was under the impression that the 3 year, 36 mile warranty was still good I was not expecting what the repair man had to say. He told me that the vehicle that I had purchased had in fact been in a car accident in April of this year and due to that the warranty for that was voided. Is there anything I can do to go against the dealer for lying? and selling me the vehicle knowing that it had had problems in the past? Please let me know.
Thank you in advance,
Doug Archer
I realize the above was done in error, please remove, thank you.
Our dealership has been with Carfax for over six years ( all was good) we did not only use one or two car fax a month , but our bill went from 85.00 $$ month to 160.00 without notice., tried to cancel out but was told I could not due that till after so many months.

Good luck with that , the worst women I have ever dealt with in my life ( I’ve been here 40 yrs. ) They said pay or go to court.. told me to get lawyer, WOW … not the way I would of done business… Oh well just giving all you heads up. if you sign up with them. … Will be sending my e mails to corporate office with my last check ever to them…. Judge Judy would have a ball with this one……
